Well I hope you guys are as excited as I am for the shoot this weekend. After I meet with Charles and Laurie today, I will be posting the call time for tomorrow. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully won't take that much time since it is a silent film. Most probably, the call time will be about 10 or 11, so I hope that it ok with everyone's schedule minus Charles that can't come till 1. We probably won't start shooting till then, but I do want to do a run through with the actors, and also have a small meeting with you all since this has gone by so quickly and we haven't been able to meet.

hey everybody,

I hope by now you have all read the script (if not email me and I'll send it to you), and more importantly I hope you all liked it. If not that's quite alright too, tell me what you didn't like about it and I'll see about changing it. Just put your comments in the comments here. If someone comments that they didn't like something and you did, say that too.

Ok.... so here it goes....

I have an idea for a film. It would be very easy to do and I think will be awesome in visuals. It would all be VO, no actual dialog between the actors so it'll be easier to direct them.

I would like to movie to be all in black in white, with a main girl,and her boyfriend would be sleeping in their bed. It would start with her outside smoking a cigarette, and the VO would begin. I don't have the dialog yet, but it will basically contains references to her questioning what to do with her life after the revealing of her boyfriend cheating on her. This will play throughout the whole movie as we see her calmly to the dishes, clean up, and get ready to leave somewhere. But every time we see her glance at her boyfriend, there will be cuts of him with other girls. (One clip of him over another girl on their bed, against a wall, and maybe one of a girl on top of him). But all these cuts will flash very quickly every time she looks at him. After all this goes on, we will finally see her all dressed up with a suitcase in her hand walking out of the building, put on her sunglasses, and say "I think it is just time for me to move on." and her face will pass right by the camera smiling. As soon as we think the movie is over, there will be another cut to her boyfriend laying in bed still, but with a bag over his head, dead.

I think this would be a good idea because it is simple enough that it can be shot in a day. All we would need it 4 girls and one guy. We can use my apartment as the set, and we wouldn't even need many mics or anything because it will all be voice over.

When it comes to the characters, I would like the main character to be blond so she can stand out from the other girls her boyfriend is having affairs with (I already have someone interested in playing the part.), I would like the boyfriend to be somewhat athletic, and the other three girls to have different hairstyles so the audience can see there is more than one girl since they are going to be going by so fast. (I already have 2 girls interested in this as well).

So ya.... this is my idea... I don't know if you guys like it... it is a bit darker, but I think it would make a lot of impact without so much time.

Let me know what you guys think! We'll probably talk about it at our meeting today.... but I thought I would put it on here as well just in case someone can't go, or for reference.

That's sounds perfect for me.... if we can all get together it'll be great so we can finally get things started, get ideas, start looking for actors, and register online with the complete group since filming is only 9 days away!!

Friday sounds good to me. I can meet up around 1:45 or so. Is that good for you guys? My friend Kelly is interested in doing this too, so ill tell her to come as well.

In My Eyes... LA REVOLUCION LIVES!!

I don't know I am really interested in the first idea Charles... I feel that silents are a lot of fun to do, and directing with, most probably, non-experienced actors would be easier if they didn't have to speak..lol.We can even incorporate both your's and Laurie's ideas by making it like as if it is being documented by a reported spying on these Revolutionists. I don't know it's just an idea. And we can make it somewhat quirky with the relationship between the reporter and the revolutionists on how he succeeds to get all this footage without being caught, until maybe a huge chase at the end.

P.S.: Since our class is canceled on Friday, do you guys want to meet up in those hours to talk about everything? And you can bring any friends you want that would want to help out as well. Let me know!

idea two

this idea is substantially less developed than the first, but I think it might work as well. It would mostly take place from the point of view of someone in a hospital bed, and his friends would come in and tell him how bad he looks and that he might die. Then his wife would come in and tell him that she just knows he' s going to pull through, then his girlfriend comes in and tells him that she moved on without him. or something to that effect. this one is probably easier to make, which is important but the other one might have more "potential".

charles here, I had an idea during a boring class, and I think it might be awesome for the contest. I think we should do the story of a fictious revolutionary. It could be silent and everyone could have those funny looking beards. I don't know if anyone is familiar with the reference but it would a comedy/adventure movie that would look like the silent Robin Hood movies. I have more ideas with it, but I was just testing the waters to see what you thought.

Hey guys!! I don't know if this is one of the options for the contest because I only saw comedy and drama but I was wondering if you were interested in doing some type of documentary. I realize we only have 5 minutes for the film but maybe we can brainstorm some ideas. Let me know your thoughts on this!!
